I get the error "Network error while waiting for response" and the following in /tmp/ace:Ĭhar serverAddr="https%3A%2F%2Fint serverPort="0"įor the record, I have the following packages installed under Jaunty: GnuCash is an open-source, locally installed accounting software product that's free to use but requires manual data entry. I am unable to get the AqBanking Wizard to Get Accounts correctly when I have entered the user information. after updating to 2.2.9, I can get Citibank, but still not American Express. I had originally installed gnucash 2.2.6 from the site, but I could not get any of my credit cards to work. I got the aqbanking by adding the repositories from ![]() I'm running xubuntu 8.04 (hardy) on an AMD 64 Second question: does anybody have any suggestions?! Here is some info: I noticed another bank (probably TD bank) had a similar feature, but I did not need to do a quicken setup first, just had to log into TD bank and authorize "quicken" which was really moneydance.Try as i might, I cannot get gnucash to download my transactions from American Express! I have been able to get it to connect to my bank and to my Citibank credit card.įirst question: can anybody who has been able to successfully download from American Express post the relevant sections from ~/.aqbanking/nf? Perhaps the developers at the infiinte kind can put the smarts into money dance to make this work more seamlessly with this info. Now it works for me and I can now download both checking and credit card account info. This is your window of opportunity - go to Money dance and do the Online setup again. Now log into bank of america, you will be prompted to allow Quicken to complete the connection within 10 minutes. When you receive the text message, enter the code as prompted. But the quicken setup has some smarts and prompts you for how to get a one time security text (e.g. Attempt to set up On Line Banking with Quicken. Get a version of quicken (Starter is OK - you can get a 30 day eval if you wish - I used the latest Quicken Starter). When trying to use Online / Setup Online Banking in moneydance it will fail as noted in multiple postings with the 2000 error code. I WAS ABLE TO GET ONLINE BANKING WORKING ON MONEYDANCE AS FOLLOWS:įirst use the Bank of America (Not Accepting New Customers) source. For example, you have to tell (California and non-California) Bank of America, by calling 1-80, that you need Quicken access and there might be a 9.95 monthly fee, which may be waived if your accounts satisfy certain conditions, such as monthly direct deposit. I use Bank of America with quicken and was trying to set up on line banking which worked with Quicken. I am evaluating Moneydance, looking to convert over from Quicken. Though it's hard to top QuickBooks Online's 50 reports, GnuCash does so with 60 reports available, with all reports completely customizable. Is there a way to delete the BOA connection data in my current file so that I can setup from scratch?īy the way, I also have the same problem with Merrill Lynch but not with Vanguard, Wells Fargo, Chase or Citibank. ![]() Since there's no way to directly transfer my 50,000 transactions from one MD file to another, I still need to fix the BOA connection problems with my current MD file. Unfortunately it didn't work because I have some accounts in different currencies. I tried to export my 50,000 transactions from my current MD file and import into the new MD file. I did and it worked immediately! So the problem is in my current MD file and not the MoneyDance software. It was initially aimed at developing capabilities similar to Intuit, Inc. They suggested that I try to connect with a fresh MD file. GnuCash is an accounting program that implements a double-entry bookkeeping system. Since I didn't really want to export/import my 50,000 transactions to another software, I called BOA to help. The recent stable GnuCash 5.1 bundles contain Aqbanking 6.5.3, the nightly test versions 6.5.3. After many fruitless attempts including forgetting all passwords, I tried another competitor's software, SEE Finance, which worked right off the bat. After getting the 2000 error on first download, I logged into BOA from a browser but the "Quickbooks" prompt didn't come up and I was logged into the BOA website immediately. I tried to setup my BOA connection again from scratch but it still doesn't work. I therefore was still able to connect in Moneydance until recently. I was fortunate that my account was activated for direct connect before they turned off support. I know Bank of America dropped their support for new customers for their direct OFX connection service some time ago.
